With the economy going down the shitter every few years and having the potential to be laid off every year, I’m starting to take the time to find some extra opportunities to make money on the side. I’m not a fan of possibly being the victim of an employer pulling the plug on my job cutting off my income stream. Now it’s time to start looking at ways to create new options for myself. They don’t need to be completely new  jobs now or down the line, however, a little extra cash on the side would be highly appreciated.

Now one of the new exciting things you always see on TV is making money online with your own website. Unfortunately, those are typically marketing scams, meant only for you to sell the program on to the next unsuspecting fool. Instead, I’m going a little slower route and testing out the waters with this blog. That alone is enough technology for me to learn for a little while. I’m also going to earn income online using some revenue sharing websites out there. Associated Content and Hubpages look like really good options actually.

Straying from the online world I’m looking at possibly expanding some of my hobbies. My garden is one instance as I could possibly sell some simple produce locally at a farmer’s market, which in turn would make a little extra money in addition to what I save by growing my own vegetables. Another option is making some sort of trinket in the garage, I like making small little doodads for the house and perhaps I could come up with some sort of decoration that I could make and sell part time. I believe bird houses are the classic example of this.

Those are just a few of the ideas I may be heading. I’m not sure what is going to really pan out but the options are limitless and I have some free time for sure.
